Scrolling Recent Topics
« on: January 30, 2010, 04:18:07 PM »
Hi Guys n Gals.
First let me say Dream Portal looks great!! Can't wait for a version that I can test :)
My live site (www.ozsportsbikes.com) is currently running phpbb3 and stargate portal but I have a fully functional test site (www.ozsuperbikes.com) running that I have converted to SMF 2.0
A very popular feature on my site at the moment is a scrolling recent topics block. You can see it yourself if you visit my live site.
You can move the scroller in either direction simply by moving your mouse to the top or bottom of the block.
I do have the block scrolling on my test site.. but only in one direction and it can not be manipulated to stop or change directions :(
I originally requested a similar feature from simpleportal but it seems no one over there can even spare the time to reply.. let alone create the feature.

I am hoping the team here are a little different :)

Cheers
Paul

This really isn't that difficult to do via Javascript.  Just thinking that this could be an option in the Recent Topics and Recent Posts modifying section of the Admin to enable this feature.  This would be determined on the quantity of topics/posts are set in the Admin.

Cheers :)

SWEET!!! :D :D :D
The one I am using at present has settings for the number of posts to display for static block but defaults to all recent topics for the scrolling block :)

How is it possible to be a tester for Dream-Portal?

Not at this time. It will be ready when it's ready.
