Portal-specific avatar size constraints
« on: February 08, 2010, 02:18:18 PM »
While SMF has a built in option for constraining avatars, some webmasters may want the avatars on the portal to be larger or smaller than elsewhere on there forum. I think it'd be a good idea for DP to have an option to either change avatar size for the whole portal system or for specific modules.

This is possible through the CSS.

Each module has its own CSS rule, which includes the rule to size the avatars.

Cool! And will we have options to edit that manipulate the CSS or will we have to manually edit it?

Well, this is just my opinion, but if you ask me, whoever coded the module should add this feature into the avatars (if they are shown) when modifying the module.  So, I said no, because Dream Portal should not handle this, the module itself should handle this when modifying the module, it could offer this option.  Remember, customizers will have complete control over the module's.  And if there is a way to create modules (which this isn't that hard to do now, since the creation of the parameter types) via a nice front-end interface in the Dream Portal's Admin, than I would say that this would be one of the options that you'd consider putting in if you'd be making a module that includes avatars.  Just my 2 cents... as this isn't a priority at the moment, this option may be included into Dream Portal's default modules after the release of DP ofcourse.  Again, just my opinion and 2 cents worth.

Cheers :)
